He is a member of the International Skeletal Society, the European Skeletal Radiology Society and the British Society of Skeletal Radiology.

His upbringing was peripatetic with physician parents, with time spent in the UK, Abu Dhabi and India developing tolerance and a broad understanding of cultures. His interests were always Musculoskeletal apart from a brief stint of wanting to be a biochemist in Medical School! Much of his basic surgical training was in the North East of England with work in busy district general hospitals and kindly Consultant mentors. This shaped a career in radiology with an early focus in musculoskeletal radiology.

A short stint in the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore preceded a competitive Clinical Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship in Canada, for a year. This experience converted him from ill thought plans to be an Interventional MSK Radiologist to an interest in the developing field of Axial Spondyloarthropathy and the use of MRI in 2004.

Axial SpA and its early diagnosis remains his work passion, with multiple hands on MRI courses, conducted in many parts of the world. He has contributed as a co-opted expert on the NICE Guidelines for Imaging in ax SpA in the UK and has been invited as part of a UK Parliamentary Subcommittee to discuss the inclusion of SpA in the European 2020 project.  His family and the pursuit of emulating his Guitar Rock-God Slash, are his passions outside of work!

And of course, the famous Norwegian blue parrot is still pining for the fjords...
